About Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute (GCRI)

With its ultracurrent treatment ammunition stock, its research, its preventive attention and its extreme network awareness, the Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute has been fighting the danger of malignant growth. On 26 January 1962, the building stone was laid, and work was organized under the supervision of top national experts, the Nuclear Life Commission and WHO. The board has developed a sensitivity approach to the network’s gifts. The uncontrollable advancement of gifts started because of this approach and untiring efforts by the staff of the general public and, particularly, by the person from the network.

Due to this approach and untiring efforts of the public in the workplace and, above all, their trust in it, uncompromising progression of the gifts from throughout the world began to build a foundation for individuals and the people of Gujarat and their neighboring state.

The Government of Gujarat granted additional 3.3 parts of land to tackle the study, registration, organization and processing problem. In February 1972 the establishment of an autonomous institution that has evolved over the years, with the joint efforts of the Government of Gujarat and the Gujarat Cancer Society on a tripartite basis, strengthened present structure of one of the most current 650 slept with Comprehensive Cancer Care Center of the nation known as The Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute (G.C.&R.I.) .

Constructed on a surface of 103.63 hectares and costing € 50840 crores, AIIMS Raipur occupies a complex of 63.65 hectares where the building is situated on a total area of 39.78 acres. The institute is situated in an accessible location in the city of Raipur and meets the medical needs of most of Central India’s population, including Chhattisgarh, Chhattisgarh, parts of eastern Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. The institute admitted the first batch of 50 MBBS students in September 2012. Since 2013 AIIMS admits 100 MBBS students per year.
